BurntOut Demo
Burnt Out!
A continuation of "Recipes of the Heart" prototype.
This new version features polished visuals, cutscenes, and quality-of-life improvements.
Burnt Out is a Malaysian inspired 2D restaurant management game, where you manage a recently opened restaurant, juggling customer orders while keeping your staff from burning out—literally and figuratively!
The game tells Liam's story, a late-20s photographer searching for purpose. Taking a part-time job at Luna's Kopitiam, he finds himself managing the struggling restaurant while navigating the family's rough dynamics.
Note: Pressing "Quit" in the main menu will cause the browser extension to crash, reload if accidently pressed.
This game is work in progress and may have bugs.

This is amazing!! I did not encounter any bugs, and mostly had a nice time playing the demo.
I struggled in the beginning because I didn't know how to put things down so I could serve the customers the right order instead. Once I realized there was a trash can for me to throw things, everything was smooth sailing from there hahah!
Overall the story and the gameplay pacing are pretty good! The game mechanics are easy to understand and engaging as well. Good job!!
Thanks Felysia!
And yes more elevator trash cans in the future :3
Okay here are my personal thoughts:
Pros :
- Gameplay is simple and fleshed out.
- The Art style and characters are cute
- The music is pretty nice
Cons :
- There is no pop-up icon to tell you the food and drink is ready.
- The dialogue during the cutscenes are pretty weird and awkward to read
- Needs more Malaysian/Asian food representation. (Add another stall for the Western Food)
All in all this is pretty decent, hope you get to add more interesting stuff and mechanics for the next update/demo.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll see what i can do to improve the experience in the future :3
Game's pretty fun, I can see myself getting addicted to the gameplay loop tho I'm only at the first night. The characters and environment look pretty good too.
If there's one thing that could be better, add simple tutorial at the start, would be greatly appreciated, even if just a text box.
Yes, in the final state of the game i'll definitely include an optional tutorial at the start of each save, thanks for the feedback :>
